Distinguished Professor of Psychology, Emeritus, and past Director of the Center for Family Studies at the University of California, Riverside, USA

My research focuses on the changing roles of fathers and other caregivers in both Latino and European American families. My goal is to understand better the effects of fathers on children’s social and emotional development, especially with their peers and friends.

I want the world to understand and appreciate that men in their roles as fathers need to be more widely recognized and supported through supportive family friendly social policies.
