My research aims to shed light on social contexts that affect family dynamics and child development, and ultimately to identify conditions that enhance family functioning. My areas of interest include parenting, racial-ethnic diversity, and protective factors for at-risk groups.

With this study, we are adding to a growing body of research showing how neighborhoods can be a positive influence for families and children. We hope policy-makers can use this research to strengthen neighborhood resources that are available to families.
